THE JOURNEY
For our west to east ski crossings, we start in Kangerlussuaq in the dramatic west coast fjords of Greenland, and ski 575km across the magical expanse of the Greenland ice sheet, to finish on the east coast of Greenland in Isortoq, one of the world’s most remote and tiny Inuit villages. Our east to west ski crossings are simply the reverse of the above. Skiing across Greenland is one of the world's greatest expedition offerings, contact us now to join.

THE ENDURANCE
It will be hard and it will be cold. You'll need to be in excellent physical condition. This is a long expedition needing stamina, patience and the mental fortitude to ski an average of 9 hours each day. The weather will test your resilience as we brave through temperatures between -40 to 0 degrees Celsius. We will ski with sleds carrying all our equipment and food for the entire expedition. |

"Going to Greenland with Ice Horizons was one of the greatest experiences of my life, leaving me with unforgettable memories. The expedition was very well organised with support offered before, during and even after the trip (since I managed to cause an international media storm ;).
David was on hand to advise on gear, equipment, clothing, nutrition and training. He went an extra mile to secure snacks and even speciality tea bags for me. Things like extra baggage and insurance were taken care of. Although the expedition had its challenges such as adverse weather or broken equipment, the knowledge and experience of the guides as well as handy work of Maarten moved us forward every day. It was also great to have contact with a doctor just a satellite phone call away.
We had an excellent team and grew to become close friends, many of which carry on going on expeditions together.
Despite the hardship of cold weather and daily tiredness I wouldn't hesitate to do this all over again. With Ice Horizons of course!"
