2012 Crossing Report
Our 2012 crossing was a great success, with mild temperatures and a well-packed snow cover allowing speedy progress across the ice cap. The team comprised 3 members and commenced on 15 April 2012 and took a comfortable 32 days to reach Isortoq, with several rest days along the way. Storms were infrequent, with one Piteraq (a cold Katabatic wind storm) in the eastern part of the ice cap which the team managed well. The decent into Isortoq involved splendid downhill skiing and the warm welcome from the villagers on our arrival at midnight was truly memorable. Overall, this was a fantastic expedition.
